What is an API key?

An API key consists of a Client ID and Client Secret. You can obtain them by creating or requesting an application in the DX Portal.

What developer environments are available?

DXM provides Sandbox for development and integration testing, and Production for live workloads. Use the DX Portal URL for the environment you are working in.

How do I get Sandbox access?

Request access at dxmsupport@digitalrealty.com.

How do I get Production access?

Request access at dxmsupport@digitalrealty.com.

How do I restore a removed Production API Product?

Submit another request using the Request Production Access option in the request form.

Which grant type should I use?

Use client_credentials.

Is the JWT digitally signed?

Yes. The current documentation specifies RS256.

Is the JWT encrypted?

No. The current documentation says the token is Base64 encoded, rather than encrypted. It also describes a 2048-bit SHA256-RSA key in the TLS keystore.

Are the Client ID and Client Secret encrypted?

The current documentation says they are not encrypted and that the API Gateway validates them for API calls.

Does Digital Realty follow IETF JWT security practices?

The current documentation says Digital Realty uses Apigee X policies to enforce security practices.

An API Product groups related APIs for a service provided by Digital Realty.

Does Digital Realty follow an API design standard?

The current documentation says Digital Realty APIs use OpenAPI Specification version 3 (OAS3).
